V&A adds People Tree to partner roster

Ethical clothing brand launches capsule collection with the museum.

With the autumn/winter season approaching, the V&A has launched a new capsule collection with ethical clothing brand People Tree.

Inspired by the glamour and style of the 1930s, the debut collection aims to recall the elegant outfits of the pre-war years with a contemporary twist.

The range features two patterns, each applied to four statement pieces.

The two prints include a feminine seed print and detailed tulip design. They are based on dress fabrics originally produced by the Calico Printers’ Association in Manchester.

Key design details running through the collection include ruffle details and romantic, long maxi shapes.

Building on People Tree’s reputation as a pioneer in sustainable fashion, the capsule collection is made by women in Mumbai with the aim to provide jobs and financial independence.

The eight-piece collection has been well received by the press, with features in Hello! Fashion, The Guardian and The Observer.

The range available in the UK and Japan, and is stocked by John Lewis, the V&A shop and online at www.peopletree.co.uk
