Strictly Come Dancing partners waltz in

BBC Worldwide secures deals with John Adams and Kinnerton for brand.

With the excitement for the final this weekend (December 16) escalating, BBC Worldwide has confirmed a brace of licensing partners for Strictly Come Dancing.

For the first time, the hit series will be immortalised as a board game, with John Adams securing a deal.

Final artwork for the board game is expected to preview in London at Toy Fair in January 2018, with product launching at retail in July 2018.

Excitingly, the board game – which features questions about the show, dance and general knowledge – will also include a battery operated revolving glitterball speaker.

Simon Pilkington, md at John Adams Leisure, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for us and we are very much looking forward to launching the game at Toy Fair 2018.

“We are confident the game will become one of the must-have family board games of 2018, full national distribution for the product is already looking very positive.”

Meanwhile, BBC Worldwide has also secured a deal with Kinnerton to make eight skus of seasonal chocolates for the Strictly Come Dancing brand.

Henry Foulds, licensing manager, BBC Worldwide – who brokered both of the new licensing deals – commented: “We are thrilled to welcome John Adams and Kinnerton to our Strictly Come Dancing portfolio.

“Strictly Come Dancing is a fantastic show with millions of loyal viewers and excitement and demand for Strictly Come Dancing licensed product continues to grow, so we look forward to nurturing existing licensees and welcome further new partnerships for the brand.”

Other licensees for Strictly Come Dancing include Norvell, Danilo, Beams, Kimm & Miller and TDP and Aykroyds.
