Helena Mansell-Stopher takes on new NGP role

Popular exec becomes director of UK licensing as company expands CP focus.

National Geographic Partners has significantly strengthened its UK business, appointing Helena Mansell-Stopher as its new director of UK licensing.

Helena (pictured) will look to drive and transform the consumer products division across both adult and children’s.

Based in London, she will report to Maria Maranesi, vp, consumer products and experiences, Europe and Africa.

Helena joins from Bulldog Licensing where she was svp consumer products UK, responsible for category management, brand management, retail and creative development for brands including Shopkins and Miraculous.

She has also held roles with Mattel, Marvel and HIT Entertainment.

Speaking about her new role, Helena commented: “This is an exciting time to be joining the National Geographic team.

“With a brand that has such a broad appeal across both adult and kids, as well as the company investing over a quarter of proceeds into conservation and exploration each year, I see a great opportunity to extend this prestigious brand and brand values through strategic licensing partnerships, into new relevant and innovative products, working closely with retail to deepen the engagement with our consumers.”

Maria added: “Helena is a highly skilled professional, and her leading expertise will be integral to our UK business as we develop new ways to extend our sterling brand into products and experiences that are authentic to National Geographic and relevant for our consumers.”
