Disney teases live action Lion King remake

Social media lights up as first official trailer for hotly tipped movie drops.

The first official trailer for the eagerly anticipated live action remake of The Lion King has been released.

Disney dropped the teaser ad during NFL’s traditional Thanksgiving primetime game in the US.

Due to hit cinemas in summer 2019, the movie has a number of big names involved including Donald Glover, Seth Rogan, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Beyoncé among others.

The trailer – which immediately started trending on social media when it was released – shows the familiar opening of the story, with Rafiki presenting a young Simba to the animals of Pride Lands.
