Further growth for LIMA UK Young Professionals

New committee unveiled for 2019 as trade body continues to develop initiative.

LIMA UK is continuing to grow its Young Professionals Network, with a new committee appointed for 2019.

The committee – which will be chaired by LIMA UK’s Ryan Beaird – is made up of three young professionals: Tasmyn Knight, licensing associate at Turner, Louisa Skevington, licensing coordinator at Rocket Licensing and Alexandra Salisbury, retail licensing manager at Nickelodeon UK CP (pictured from left to right).

The aim of the committee is to help grow LIMA’s young professionals educational output, in addition to building up the community and bringing together junior licensing people through events specially curated for their needs.

2018 saw an array of YPN events take place including a creative session with Keith Chapman, the creator of PAW Patrol; a breakfast with eOne which saw Andrew Carley and Rebecca Harvey let the audience into special insights into the Peppa Pig brand; and a TV content distribution talk at Cartoon Network’s London HQ, as well as both summer and winter social events.

The LIMA UK Rising Star Award is also presented as part of The Licensing Awards, with Tasmyn being the 2018 recipient.

“The Young Professionals Network in its early days was just a small gathering for social drinks in London,” Ryan Beaird, marketing and operations manager at LIMA UK, explained. “I’m now proud to see it growing each year with more content offered that is applicable to the future of our industry over and above social occasions throughout the year.

“To have the LIMA Rising Star award now incorporated in The Licensing Awards was a major step forward and I feel it is an award for which every young professional aspires to be nominated for and, ultimately win.”

Ryan continued: “With this new LIMA Young Professionals committee in place, I am already starting to see more ideas coming into LIMA and more importantly ideas from the young professionals themselves.

“I’m very excited to start planning for our content for 2019 with the committee and adding more to our programme for the future of our industry.”
