Pride in London pop-up opens its doors

Seven Dials store is selling official merchandise, plus hosting talks and workshops.

An official Pride in London pop-up shop has opened its doors in Seven Dials, in collaboration with Mary Portas.

The shop – which will remain open on Neal Street until July 12 – is selling the new range of Pride in London merchandise, which highlights this year’s #PrideJubilee theme, marking 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising, the night which started a global movement.

Merchandise includes clothing, flags and tote bags representing all communities, plus the first ever bisexual and transgender flag face paints, reported IPM Bitesize.

There will also be a schedule of talks and workshops, while the shop will also act as a community hub and safe space for those who wish to drop in and find out more about Pride.

“We’re really excited to have such a fantastic space for our pop-up once again, and of course we’re looking forward to helping kit everyone out for Pride this year – with a great range of clothing, flags, badges and more, for every community,” said Kieron Yates, head of retail and merchandising at Pride in London. “The store also serves as an incredibly important space for community groups, and we’re working on a fantastic programme of events curated by a wide variety of organisations, meaning there will be something for everyone.”

Mary Portas, founder and chief creative officer of Portas Agency, added: “This year the Pride in London pop-up is the embodiment of Pride. It’s inclusive, it’s relevant and a bit bloody camp.”
