The Entertainer targets future growth with new hire

Toy retailer appoints chief transformation officer as it looks to tackle changing global market.

Ambitious toy retailer The Entertainer has appointed a chief transformation officer as it continues to target growth against what it describes as a ‘complex and changing’ market globally.

Julie Price (pictured) will be focused on developing, accelerating and elevating the business’ digital processes, increasing productivity and profitability across a wide range of business areas including online, in-store and supply chain.

She brings a wealth of experience gained from a host of major brands and retailers including Mars, TK Maxx, Ann Summers, Bounty and, most recently, White Stuff, where she held the role of IT and business transformation director.

“This is one of the most significant hires the business has made in recent years, adding another team member to the board and comes at an important time,” explained Gary Grant, founder and executive chairman of The Entertainer. “While retail has faced, and continues to face, challenges over the last few years, The Entertainer has continued to target growth, investing back into the business and its infrastructure to safeguard future success.

“Great people like Julie are testament to our success and we’re confident that she will be able to bring her skill set and experience to support the delivery of our ambitious growth plans.”

Julie added: “The Entertainer has been a key part of the UK high street for the last 40 years and has become a household name thanks to its core values, identity and business acumen.

“I look forward to joining the team and bringing my skills and experience to the business to help create and implement new strategies to support its exciting and ambitious growth plans.”
