London Book Fair reassures on COVID-19 concerns

Event on March 10-12 will go ahead with organiser “actively and continuously” monitoring the situation.

London Book Fair – which is due to take place at Olympia from March 10-12 – has issued a statement saying that it is continuously monitoring the situation around Covid-19 Coronavirus, but that the event will go ahead as scheduled.

As part of Reed Exhibitions, the show is “actively and continuously” monitoring the situation “in line with Public Health England and WHO guidelines and our policies reflect those of the relevant government in the countries in which our events take place”.

The statement – which was released yesterday (February 25) – began: “We at The London Book Fair want to express our concern for everyone impacted by the COVID-19 virus and we send our warm wishes to all our book industry colleagues around the world.

“Our event in London is going ahead, March 10th – 12th as scheduled.”

It went on to reassure all participants of London Book Fair that should the UK Government issue any further guidelines they will be applied to the show and that it is updating – and will continue to update – everyone involved on a regular basis.

“Working with the venue, the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff is our number one priority.”
