Caroline Mickler brings key new signings to Festival of Licensing

A hit TV show and a legendary photographer join long-term successes for agency.

Caroline Mickler is bringing a mix of new representations and established clients to Festival of Licensing next month.

The line-up includes new signings The Masked Singer and Norman Parkinson, along with Paul McCartney’s children’s book Hey Grandude! and long-term successes for the agency including The Beatles, Yellow Submarine, Horrid Henry and Fifty Shades of Grey.

Hit reality show, The Masked Singer has already garnered significant interest. More than 8.4 million viewers tuned in to see Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud crowned the winner of season one, while season two is now in development for broadcast in early 2021.

The Beatles and Yellow Submarine have remained strongly performing brands over many years and are constantly being discovered and embraced by new generations. The licensing programmes are tiered to appeal to all ages and price ranges.

LEGO Art – the latest collaboration with The Beatles – allows fans to create pop art portraits of the Fab Four, and was the focal point of a retail installation in Harrods.

Popular kids’ TV show Horrid Henry has succeeded in picking up more fans during lockdown, while Hey Grandude is Sir Paul McCartney’s first picture book with the agency seeing licensing potential in product categories including toys, games, apparel and gifts.

Finally, new signing Norman Parkinson is one of the most important and celebrated fashion photographers of the Twentieth Century. His more than 30 years at the top – from the 1950s to the 1980s – included a long and legendary collaboration with Vogue Magazine.

“The Festival of Licensing is an important opportunity for us to make contact with a wide audience across Europe,” said Caroline Mickler, founder. “We have an exciting line-up to share with the industry and are delighted to have the opportunity to take part in this highly innovative showcase.”
