Fred Perry feels the beat with new Gorillaz collaboration

Cartoon band members will wear their favourite Fred Perry shirts for the brand’s 2021 campaign.

British clothing brand Fred Perry has enlisted the help of virtual band, Gorillaz for its 2021 campaign.

Featuring frontman 2D, guitarist Noodle, drummer Russel Hobbs and bassist Murdoc Niccals, the campaign features each band member sporting different polo styles.

As well as the special clothing collaboration, the campaign will also include special playlists and interviews with the cartoon band members, featuring on the Fred Perry website in the coming weeks.

The new tie-up has also seen Fred Perry Shirt takeovers with Gorillaz appearing in London’s Piccadilly Circus and Shibuya in Tokyo, with further appearances planned in other cities.

NME reported that Fred Perry said that Gorillaz “are the perfect artists to represent the Fred Perry shirt. Gorillaz share a sense of independent thought and spirit with the British brand, and a need to do things differently.”
