The Point.1888 marks its seventh anniversary

The Point.1888 is celebrating its seventh birthday this week, with the team coming together to mark the event in its headquarters in Brentwood, Essex.

This will be the first time the whole team has been able to meet in-person since the pandemic began and an opportunity for the 14 employees who have joined over the last year to get the full agency experience.

Created in 2014 by Will Stewart, the agency has grown to 28 members of staff representing brands including Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Blippi, CoComelon, Moomin, Moon & Me, Morphle, Mumsnet, Rachel Ellen, St Andrews Links, Team GB, The British & Irish Lions, Tom Gates and Williams Racing to name just a few.

The names of seven new brands will also be revealed over the coming weeks.

The Point.1888 has also recently launched its own marketing agency, Story.1888, to maximise the impact of clients’ brand licensing efforts even further.

“Reaching seven years at The Point.1888 is a hugely proud achievement for me personally but also for the whole team,” commented Will. “From the start we had a clear purpose, huge ambition and a clear USP to help evolve the licensing industry. Our approach was disruptive and ultra-flexible, I was told over and over how it wouldn’t work.

“But today with a tribe of 28 legends all living and promoting our approach really proves that our way works. I’m extremely proud to reach this massive milestone but more importantly I’m privileged and honoured to have the most loyal, talented, honest, and trustworthy tribe to work alongside. I can’t wait to take things to the next level.”

Adam Steel, international licensing at Moonbug Entertainment, added: “Happy Birthday to Will, Bethan and the whole amazing team at The Point. 1888. We appreciate your energy, passion, and commitment to our brands. Look forward to celebrating many more years.”

Patrick Ullman, commercial director (retail, sales and brand) Rights & Brands, continued: “On behalf of Rights & Brands and Moomin Characters I would like to congratulate the team at The Point.1888 on the seventh anniversary. Our first two years together coincided with the pandemic, but still we did good. Together we’ll keep growing, keep driving the Moomin success further and spread Moomin’s roadmap to happiness to new audiences.”

Celebrations for the anniversary will be continuing at Brand Licensing Europe in November.
