Minnie Mouse gets a makeover from Stella McCartney

Minnie Mouse is swapping her distinctive red polka-dot dress for a pantsuit designed by Stella McCartney.

The new look is due to debut in March, marking the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris and Women’s History Month, reported The Industry.Fashion.

Disney will also be collaborating with the British designer as part of the International Women’s Rights Day campaign, forming part of Stella’s autumn/winter 2022 show, debuting at Paris Fashion Week.

There will be a limited edition Minnie Mouse t-shirt – launching on 8 March – as well as a limited edition product line inspired by the Fantasia movie.

“Minnie has always had a special place in my heart. We share the same values,” commented Stella. “I wanted Minnie to wear her very first pantsuit at Disneyland Paris, so I have designed one of my iconic costumes – a blue tuxedo – using responsibly sourced fabrics.

“This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation.”
