Skew Studio unveils ‘Think. Shop. Do’ retail event

Brand extension creative agency, Skew Studio is to host a one-day retail event based in London, with the aim of helping licensing professionals to ‘leap ahead’ with new competitive intelligence and creative insight skills.

Think. Shop. Do will take place on Wednesday 30 March and will offer licensing and brand professionals the chance to learn Skew’s research process, refined by 1,000+ store visits for companies including BBC Studios, Paramount, eOne, UEFA, National Trust and the British Museum.

Attendees will be coached on how to gather insight easily and effectively, as well as tackling challenges such as breaking into new product categories, growing into a tricky demographic, unlocking new retail partners and learning from what their peers have to offer.

No creative skill is required, as the Skew team will prepare attendees for the event and coach them on the research techniques. The team will also act as guides through a prepared retail route in central London and workshop insights with attendees to help turn them into action.

“Brand extension means finding opportunity, building relationships, pleasing partners and learning about the fans you want to reach with new products and services,” Oliver Dyer, founder of Skew Studio, explained to LicensingSource. “We know that the industry finds it hard to find the time to gather market intelligence. Brands value strategic insight but it’s expensive to bring an agency in to do it for you.

“We thought, ‘we can help the industry much more here’. Retail research is effective and so much fun, why should we keep it to ourselves? We’ve unlocked our clients’ challenges thousands of times by taking them out to the shops on a focused guided research trip. And now you can do this too, with Skew, at Think Shop Do.”

Places are limited and Skew is asking people to pre-register to get early bird access to tickets. Simply click on this link.
