Barbour brings back The Snowman for Christmas 2018

Penguin Ventures teams with lifestyle and heritage brand for new collection.

Lifestyle and heritage brand Barbour is once again teaming with Penguin Ventures, this time creating a Christmas collection using images of The Snowman.

With 2018 marking 40 years since the publication of The Snowman, the new collection – which has been designed for women and children – will feature iconic images on brightly coloured knitwear, jerseys, tees and accessories.

Key pieces include the ladies Barbour Highfield knit, the Blake tee for children and the Barbour Chloe knitted beanie and twisted yarn mitts for girls.

From November 12, Barbour’s retail stores will promote the collection through point of sale, windows, in store gift tables and exclusively designed carrier bags.

A special limited edition The Snowman pin will be given away with every Barbour purchase.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Penguin Ventures to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Snowman,” said Paul Wilkinson, global marketing and commercial director at Barbour. “It is a classic and much loved story which has become an established part of family Christmas traditions.

“It embraces the spirit of spending quality time with loved ones at this special time and the joy of sharing memories and making new ones. The Barbour x The Snowman collection features fun, easy to wear pieces, guaranteed to raise a smile at Christmas time.”

Jen Greenway, softlines category manager at Penguin Ventures, added: “We are delighted to revisit our relationship with Barbour and to launch this fantastic Snowman product range. Barbour and The Snowman share a perfect synergy as classic, British brands and this beautiful range will appeal to fans of both.”
