LIMA UK outlines Young Professional events for 2019

Panel discussion and Retail Speed Mentoring event both dated for this year.

LIMA UK has revealed the first events in its 2019 Young Professionals educational programme.

Kicking off the series of events will be a YPN coffee morning at the Ivy Club on March 29, with a panel discussion featuring four licensing industry veterans who will share career advice, business experience and their views on a changing industry.

The panel will include Graham Saltmarsh (Cartoon Network), Vickie O’Malley (Rockpool Licensing), Richard Hollis (Rocket Licensing) and Susan Bolsover (Penguin Ventures) and will be moderated by Ryan Beaird, marketing and operations manager at LIMA UK.

The second event of 2019 will be a first for LIMA UK and will be a Retail Speed Mentoring event taking place at Coca-Cola’s offices on June 20.

Senior retail buyers will be on hand to offer career advice to our industry’s junior licensing executives in a speed ‘meet and greet’ format. The event is designed to give your junior licensing staff a chance to network among the retail industry and to keep it informal there will be a strict ‘no pitching’ policy in place.

Confirmed senior retail buyers so far will be from Tesco, Selfridges, John Lewis and The Entertainer, with more to follow.

Tickets for all the YPN 2019 events will be priced at £15 for LIMA members and £25 for non-members. All junior staff are welcome to attend.

A further two events are in the process of being planned by the UK Young Professionals Committee for later in 2019. These will focus on heritage and fashion, plus a digital platform event.

“LIMA UK Young Professionals educational and social events are a great way for the junior licensing industry to network, build friendships and expand their knowledge of brand building,” explained Ryan.

LIMA UK’s 2019 Young Professionals events are sponsored by Octane5 brandcomply.com.
