Anne Bradford takes on new Poetic Brands role

Popular exec will focus on building childrenswear, babywear and accessories division.

Anne Bradford has taken on a new role as director of Poetic Brands.

Anne – who was previously general manager of Blues – will be focusing on building a childrenswear, babywear and accessories division.

“Over the past few years Poetic Brands has seen significant growth on adults and we believe that there is a huge opportunity to grow into further areas,” Anne told Source. “While the retail landscape continues to present challenging times, there is still a large growing market place out there to be serviced.

“Consumer habits may have changed, but the demand is still there for clothing, fashion and most importantly licensing. Licensing plays a key part in so many babies and children’s lives as they develop transitioning from one favourite character or show to another.”

Anne continued: “We have already had a significant amount of interest from licensors and retailers with regards to this new area at Poetic Brands and we are looking forward to progressing these conversations further.”

The new business relationship between Anne and Poetic Brands began to be forged back in April, when she was part of the team of execs taking on the London to Paris row in aid of The Light Fund with Elliott Matthews, director of the licensee.

Anne said that she and Elliott had “plenty of time to discuss a number of topics, but it became apparent that there was a great opportunity to be developed within Poetic Brands and these conversations continued once back in the UK”.

In addition to the row, Anne has signed up for a further two events this year to raise money for the industry charity. She will be swimming a 10km open water swim at the end of September in Wales, as well as running a trail half marathon in November.
