Phillippa Green is due to ‘Brave the Shave’ on Saturday May 9.
Phillippa Green, product director at Golden Goose, has pledged to ‘Brave the Shave’ for Macmillan Cancer Support, shaving her head for the charity.
Phillippa (pictured) made the decision while on lockdown last Saturday, commenting: “I’ve been thinking about doing this for a long time. I have lost close family to cancer and have friends living with it now, but it never seemed like the right time due to work commitments already in the diary.”
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Phillippa, like many, has been working solely from home: “I decided it was now, or never and it feels really good to think that I’ll be able to say that I did something worthwhile during this period of lockdown.”
After just three days since her announcement, Phillippa has already raised more £1,000 and has had to increase her goal. Many of her colleagues and co-workers have already donated to the cause, but they’ll have to wait until Monday May 11 before the first video conference with her new look.
Phillippa added: “I can’t believe how generous people have been given how much uncertainty over jobs that there is at the moment. It would be amazing if I had to raise my goal even higher.”
Phillippa is a keen singer and will shave her head at 5pm on Saturday May 9 after a video performance of something appropriate… Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow perhaps or maybe Time to Say Goodbye…
