Fresh Star Wars content confirmed for Disney+

Star Wars: The Bad Batch to debut on 4 May, while production begins on special event series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Star Wars franchise will welcome a further two extensions on Disney+, it has been confirmed.

Original animated series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch will debut on Tuesday 4 May with a special 70-minute premiere. This will be followed by new episodes every Friday starting from 7 May.

The series will follow the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch – first introduced in The Clone Wars – as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone Wars.

Members of the Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones which vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army – each possess a singular skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers.

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi – the new Disney+ special event series starring Ewan McGregor as the iconic Jedi Master – will begin shooting in April.

The story begins ten years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. It will also mark the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader.
