Outright Games sees revenue soar to £22m in Q4 2020

Following launches of Transformers, PAW Patrol and Ben 10 video games, the company is forecasting ‘unprecedented’ growth in 2021.

Kids interactive entertainment specialist, Outright Games has revealed details of its blockbuster year in 2020, which culminated in Q4 revenue of £22 million – an increase of 75% from the same time the previous year.

The dramatic growth for the company has been driven by tentpole video games releases in collaboration with the likes of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

A strong Christmas gifting period was driven by the launches of games based on major franchises such as PAW Patrol, DreamWorks TrollHunters, Transformers, Ben 10 and Ryan’s World.

Building on this momentum, Outright Games is set to continue its strong growth and will triple its total existing portfolio of 18 titles by the end of 2022. The ambitious company is also increasing the number of big-name licensing partners, building on existing relationships with entertainment giants such as Sony Pictures, Universal, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

“2020 was our biggest year to date, and allowed us to cement our position as the leading publisher in this market,” commented Adam Whittaker, cfo of Outright Games. “The continued growth in sales output, and the number of titles we are able to produce is unprecedented. We are excited to continue to grow this going into 2021.”

The family run businesses – established in 2016 by Terry Malham, Terry Malham-Wallis and Stephanie Malham – has swiftly established itself as a go-to in licensed kids games. After opening offices in Los Angeles, London and Madrid over the past three years, Outright Games currently has over 30 projects in development.

“2020 was a huge year for us, thanks to the fantastic relationships we have with our industry leading family of licensing partners,” said Terry Malham-Wallis, head of sales and licensing. “In 2021 we have an even more exciting and diverse line-up of beloved franchises and their enduring characters that we’re bringing to life in the world of video games.”
