The Pokémon Company International has taken over part of Selfridges’ toy space in three UK stores. The pop-up activation – which launched on 13 December and will run until the end of January – forms part of the final celebrations of the year-long 25th anniversary campaign for the brand. Special branded areas have been created at the Selfridges stores on Oxford Street in London, Birmingham Bullring and in the Trafford Centre in Manchester. The spaces – which feature a Pikachu motif – promote the range of Pokémon products available, while there are also photo opportunities including costume character visits (Oxford Street).

Ahead of the global debut of Angry Birds: Summer Madness on Netflix on 28 January 2022, Rovio Entertainment is working with IMG to build a consumer products programme. IMG has signed deals across core categories including apparel, QSR, confectionery and promotions in location-based experiences in the US and Europe. The agency is now targeting other licensees in key categories including F&B, promotions, apparel, plush and hardlines among others.

Big Picture Licensing has been busy securing new deals for Glowberry’s Brave Bunnies brand. First up, Penguin Random House is on board as a multi-territory licensee, joining DeA Planeta Libri as publishing partner. The first products to hit the shelves will be picture books, board books and little libraries, launching from Easter 2022. In addition, new deals for Brave Bunnies have also been signed with Caprice Australia, PMI, Five Mile Press and Roy Lowe & Sons. Big Picture Licensing is the exclusive licensing agent for the UK and Eire and master agent across EMEA and APAC, with Centa IP handling the ANZ region.

Jazwares has opened a new office in Paris as it continues its global expansion plans. The new location adds to the existing group of European offices in the UK, Germany and Holland.

Scottish designer, Clare Mackie has extended her relationship with Caspari, expanding on her range of greeting cards, stationery and tabletop paperware among other lines. Gaea Rich, director at Caspari, commented: “[Clare’s] beautiful range of humorous and engaging art appeals to such a wide audience and we are really looking forward to continuing our enjoyable collaboration.”

Pop culture brand, Fanattik has strengthened its senior team with the promotion of Melissa Tudor to the role of creative director. The news comes at the end of a year which has seen strong growth for the gift and collectable manufacturer.

Endemol Shine Brasil – part of Banijay – has teamed with Vibra Digital to launch an official store for the sale of MasterChef Brasil licensed products on the NaPrateleira platform.
