V&A ends the year on a licensing high

The V&A has enjoyed another successful year for its licensing programme in 2021, and is rounding it off with a number of new deals.

First up, Australian-based boutique fashion brand, Camilla – which creates high-end ready to wear clothing and accessories – has launched a limited edition capsule collection.

The collection brings Kilburn’s sheer botanical brilliance and illustrious English textile designer Garthwaite’s vivid floral designs to life, all mid-18th century fashion in flowered woven silks and Rococo style. The exclusive V&A capsule collection is made up of over 40 styles across three unique prints – Brick Lane Beauty, From The Archives and London Looms.

The range is being stocked in all Camilla boutiques and online, in Matches Fashion (UK) and Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus in the US.

Meanwhile, Sofas & Stuff’s love of fine art, textiles and interiors led to the creation of an exclusive new collection of fabrics and furniture.

The inspiration for the V&A Brompton Collection imagery came from a wealth of textile patterns and botanical illustrations from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Statement broken stripes, exotic birds and floral chintzes mix with botanical studies in a collection that is both contemporary and classic in easy and relaxed shades.

Finally, Richard Brendon has created a range of bone china, shining a light on the golden era of Georgian ceramics.

The V&A range consists of four striking saucers to pair with the signature gold and platinum reflective teacups, as well as four decorative mugs. The teacups and saucers are a development of the first collection – Reflect – which propelled the brand forward when it launched in 2013. The original collection breathes life into ‘orphaned’ antique saucers, which have lost their matching teacups over time.
