New bedding and accessories being planned following the success of Pokémon Go.
Soaring retailer demand for all things Pokémon following the success of the Pokémon Go app will see Character World fast-tracking a new range of bedding and accessories for the brand.
The licensee sold out of its Pikachu duvet set in 24 hours as the Pokémon Go hype took hold of the country.
Character World is now creating new Pokémon textiles including single and double duvet sets, cushions, curtains, a bean bag and towel to supply to the UK and Nordic countries.
Tim Kilby, brand director at Character World, commented: “Pokémon is the brand of the moment after Pokémon Go continues to be more popular than anyone could have imagined. It’s become a worldwide phenomenon almost overnight and retailers’ have responded to ensure stock is available in store as soon as possible.
“We’re excited to build on the success of our current range with a new Pokémon collection. Pokémon Go has introduced a whole new generation of fans to the franchise that many young adults know and love from their childhood.”
Character World’s Pokémon range will be available to UK retailers in the autumn. This will coincide with the launch of new Pokémon Sun and Moon games on Nintendo 3DS in November, which will be supported by a multi-million pound TV ad campaign.
