Almost 300 execs help raise over £5,000 for the licensing industry charity.

Last night’s Treasure Hunt in aid of The Light Fund was another rip-roaring success, with over £5,000 being raised for the licensing industry charity.

Almost 300 people attended the popular event, with teams from Jazwares, Bulldog, Universal, Nickelodeon, BLE, Start Licensing, Carte Blanche, Fashion UK, Blueprint, Amscan, Rocket Licensing, Cooneen, Poetic Brands, Kinnerton, Danilo, Turner, Rainbow Productions, ITV, Hasbro, DHX, eOne, Blues Clothing, DreamWorks, Fremantle, Copyrights, Rockpool Licensing, Kilogrammedia, M&S, Tesco, Mothercare and Acamar among others.

The winner was the team from Start Licensing – which included Ian Downes, Karen Addison, Andrew Levy, Angeles Blanco, Phil King, James Marsh and Jon Gibson.

Picking up the ‘dead parrot’ prize for last place was the team from Carte Blanche.

Meanwhile, Brand Licensing Europe was awarded a prize for finding the best tacky London souvenir, a Union Jack thong.

The event – which was sponsored by Brand Licensing Europe, with the maps sponsored by A-Z (which also supplied some rather fetching jackets, as modelled by The Light Fund committee in our gallery below) – was hosted by Ashley Holman from Nickelodeon and Hannah Mungo from eOne.

Hannah told The Source: “It is great that we have been able to raise such a significant sum for The Light Fun while having fun. With the teams including retailers, licensors, licensees and suppliers, the Treasure Hunt really does celebrate the friendliness of this industry.”

David Scott, md of Rainbow Productions and The Light Fund treasurer, added: “We had a fantastic turnout for the Treasure Hunt as the licensing industry once again did us proud.

“We’re very grateful to Brand Licensing Europe and A-Z for their fabulous support for this event, which is now a fixture in the licensing social calendar. Once again the winners were those who kept their focus on the clues rather than the pubs and our congratulations go to them, with some sore heads the next morning for the losers.

“Thanks to everyone’s support, we raised over £6000 for The Light Fund.”

Other sponsors of the event included Start Licensing, Licensing Source Book, Gosh Designs, TDP Textiles and Rainbow Productions.
