Brands & Retail names keynote speaker for summer conference

Brands & Retail has confirmed Fiona Lambert – one of the UK’s leading businesswomen with senior roles at Next, Asda, Dunelm and River Island, and most recently md of Jaeger at M&S – will be the keynote speaker at its summer conference in Birmingham in July.

Fiona worked alongside George founder, George Davies, on the launch of the first fashion supermarket brand in 1990, going on to build a successful career in the fashion industry over the last 30 years.

The keynote will take place at the end of day one of the conference, leading into the new Gala Dinner which takes place at the Grand Hotel later that evening.

“I think licensing and brand collaborations are going to be key drivers of innovation and momentum for the industry and am really looking forward to being involved in Brands Retail Summer conference,” commented Fiona.

Ryan Beaird, event director, continued: “Fiona has been supporting our industry for many years and I am delighted someone of her experience of running major retailers has agreed to come and speak at our new summer conference in Birmingham.

“I am also grateful that Ruth Golightly of Blues Clothing will be interviewing Fiona and I am sure we will hear some great anecdotes of their time working together at George @ ASDA.”

Ryan added: “We have now reduced the amount of brand presentations over the two days to bring in more fantastic educational panels like these which should appeal to our more junior workforce. We have a theatre capacity of 250 so if you are a licensee or retailer and you have junior staff you should encourage them to come and watch the screenings and attend the gala dinner; we are sure they will be inspired by these senior executive panels.

“As we have reduced the number of available screening slots for brands we are now bringing in a deadline of 31 May for brands to secure their presentation times. So if you want to present to our VIP audience please get in touch soon.”
