Bologna Children’s Book Fair confirms new audiovisual business area

This year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair – the international leading event for children’s publishing – will introduce a new area dedicated to audiovisual professionals.

The 61st edition of BCBF will be held at BolognaFiere from 8-11 April including two brand extensions – Bologna Licensing Trade Fair/Kids (BLTF/K) for children’s brands, and Bologna Book Plus (BBPlus) for general publishing (organised in cooperation with AIE – Associazione Italiana Editori).

Every year, the show brings together the most important professionals in the sector from all over the world – the 2023 edition welcomed 1,456 exhibitors and 28,894 visitors in the 2023 edition.

This year, will see BCBF establish the TV/Film Rights Centre, a new business area that welcomes audiovisual producers and enables networking with publishing professionals, for an enhanced book-to-screen proposal.

In this first edition, the TV/Film Rights Centre will have limited slots and will provide several benefits to registered producers, significantly increasing their opportunities to promote their TV/film properties in the publishing sector. The project will involve all BCBF publishers, who will receive an information sheet about each registered producer.

Producers will have access to the Bologna Global Rights Exchange service – the digital platform for the copyright business – and will be included in the official BCBF catalogue. They will also be able to browse the database of publishers and trade visitors registered at the fair.

Members will be able to plan meetings, get help and take part in the organisation’s arranged matchmaking activities between publishers and TV and film producers in a special business lounge that will be positioned in the heart of the exhibition halls.

Additional facilities are also being created and will be announced shortly.

In addition, a calendar of conferences on the audiovisual sector is expected on 10 April, in the context of the 4th edition of the International Kids Licensing Days – the conference programme on the latest trends in children’s content.

To request information and/or reserve your slot in the new area, please write to Licensing@bolognafiere.it by 23 February.
