Amazon MGM Studios builds licensing programme around hit post-apocalyptic series, Fallout

Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled a multifaceted licensing programme for post-apocalyptic series, Fallout – which premiered on Prime Video on 11 April and is based on the bestselling global video game franchise.

15 licensing partners across categories including apparel, accessories, collectables, beverage and more are part of the launch for the merchandising programme, along with an Amazon storefront.

The robust line-up will help form the foundation for the evolving Fallout franchise where fans of the series can continue to enjoy the characters and storylines once they finish their binge of the initial season.

The licensing programme is inspired by the new storylines and characters from the Prime Video series.

“Our goal for the Fallout licensing programme, as well as other beloved IP, is to create opportunities for fans to dive deeper into the characters and worlds they love,” commented Jamie Kampel, head of consumer products licensing for Amazon MGM Studios. “Through the programme we are creating, we are aiming to appeal both to existing Fallout fans as well as new audiences that are discovering the world of Fallout through our series. By working closely with the producers of the series we are delivering authentic and creative products to market through our licensees.”

On the Fallout Amazon Storefront fans will find a variety of merchandise from licensing partners, as well as Amazon Merch-on-Demand. Through the Merch-on-Demand programme, more than 50 Fallout-inspired designs are available for purchase such as t-shirts, hoodies, crewneck sweaters, phone cases, PopSockets, hats and tumblers. More designs are expected to be available soon.

Licensees on board include McFarlane Toys (collectable 6″ scale posed figures); Dark Horse (figures and statues); Modiphius (miniatures); The Wand Company (replicas of Pip-Boy and Lucy’s Backpack among others); Gunnar Optiks (computer eyewear); Ripple Junction (apparel, US); Difuzed (apparel, Europe); Displate (collectable metal posters); Bones Coffee Company (whole beans and ground coffee); AriZona (green tea natural energy drinks); and Insight Editions (publishing).

Additional licensing partners will be confirmed across various categories soon.

Fallout will be available in more than 240 countries and territories around the world. The series follows the inhabitants of luxury fallout shelters who are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind 200 years after the apocalypse.
