Gromit Unleashed sculptures return this summer

Sculptures from 2013 trail return to Bristol for special six-week exhibition.

The Grand Appeal is bringing the popular sculptures from the 2013 Gromit Unleashed trail back to Bristol this summer.

18 of the original trail sculptures will go on show at The Grand Appeal’s shop at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway for six weeks from July 25.

Some of the trail’s most popular pooches will be on display including Gromberry, Doodles, Sir Gromit of Bristol, Antique Rose (by Cath Kidston), Butterfly (by Philip Treacy MBE) and Ship Shape and Bristol Fashion.

Further sculptures will be revealed in the lead up to the event.

The exhibition will run from July 25 to September 4 and will be free to enter (with a suggested entry donation of £2 to The Grand Appeal).

Nicola Masters, director of The Grand Appeal, said: “Gromit Unleashed was a truly overwhelming success that has left a lasting impression on the people of Bristol, the South West, and beyond.

“It created a huge following of dedicated and enthusiastic fans, whose ongoing support and love for the project has helped to raise £5million for Bristol Children’s Hospital.

“After the auction, all 80 Gromits went to new homes across the UK and around the world. We’re very grateful to all the owners who have so generously allowed for their Gromit to come back to Bristol for six weeks this summer. All funds raised by donations to the exhibition, as well as all our Gromit Unleashed figurines and merchandise, will help us to continue to support sick children at Bristol Children’s Hospital.”

Over one million visitors from across the world flocked to see the sculptures in 2013. They were designed by artists and celebrities including Joanna Lumley, Sir Quentin Blake, Harry Hill, Disney-Pixar and Nick Park.
