Sesame Workshop has named Sambro as its licensee to develop a range of Sesame Street plush toys, bags and arts and crafts for the UK, Benelux, Iberia, the Nordic countries and CEE. CPLG – Sesame Workshop’s licensing representative in the territories – helped to broker the deal.

JCB Kids has renewed its deals with two key toy partners – Golden Bear and HTI. The latter will unveil a number of new products at Nuremberg toy fair for autumn/winter 2017. HTI’s stand will feature a dedicated JCB bay, incorporating all the new lines as well as success stories from 2016. Meanwhile, Golden Bear has renewed its licence across the My First JCB range from 2018.

UBM has revealed the initial line-up of exhibitors for this year’s Licensing Expo, which takes place from May 23-25. New exhibitors will include Atlantic Entertainment, Ben Cooper Halloween Costumes, Bigfoot 4×4, Coca-Cola, FAO Schwarz, French Bull, Goddard Film Group, Hang Ten and Yale University.

Spin Master’s master toy range for The Powerpuff Girls has begun its UK retail roll out. The range – inspired by the Cartoon Network show – has launched in Argos and The Entertainer. This will be followed up from spring with a line-up of fashion, accessories, gifting, homewares, personal care, FMCG and back to school products.

CPLG is to bring Italian brand Love Therapy to a new generation – Floria Fiorucci has appointed the company as the leading licensing agency to handle property across EMEA and North America.

A new Asterix and Obelix album is due to launch in 2017, part of a number of activities surrounding the brand. A new attraction is opening at Parc Astérix, two exhibitions are scheduled for late 2017 in Paris, while a Belgian exhibition will take place in Brussels’ Comic Strip Center from May to September. Asterix and Obelix have also been selected as the mascots for the Ice Hockey World Championship, which will be hosted by France and Germany in May.

The Smiley Company is collaborating with global footwear brand Palladium to create a capsule festival collection. The deal is part of the 45th anniversary celebrations for Smiley and also marks Palladium’s 70th.

LIMA is to host its second annual Latin America licensing conference and showcase – Expolicencias Latin America 2017 – on March 27-28 in Bogota, Colombia.

WildBrain has been appointed as the exclusive global manager of Moose Toys‘ YouTube channels for the Shopkins, Happy Places, Grossery Gang and Twozies brands.
