Cartoon Network adds to Powerpuff Girls roster

Raft of new licensees on board as revival of brand continues.

Cartoon Network EMEA is continuing to build up the licensing programme for The Powerpuff Girls, welcoming a raft of new UK partners.

Hachette has been signed as the master publishing partner for the UK and will introduce a range of paperback series fiction, guidebooks and sticker activity formats from this month.

Boosting the accessories category, ZAK is launching lunchware products for back to school and kicking off the food and drink line-up, Kinnerton is developing confectionery products which will hit shelves from Easter 2018.

Graham Saltmarsh, director of licensing UK and Nordics at Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA, said: “It’s thrilling to see the UK licensing industry displaying such confidence in the revival of The Powerpuff Girls, as the signing of these new best-in-class licensees demonstrates.

“What’s more, we’re delighted be working with partners who share our enthusiasm for injecting the girls’ market with genuine newness and bringing brands that both empower and entertain to girls across the country.”

Licensees already on board with the brand include Spin Master (global toy partner), Bioworld Europe (adult apparel), Blueprint Collections (stationery), Blues Clothing (girls daywear), Branded Clothing International (nightwear and underwear), C&M Licensing (nightwear and underwear), Corsair Toiletries (toiletries), Drew Pearson International (headwear and accessories), Forbidden Planet (gifts and accessories), Imagine8 (jewellery), JFS Manchester (ladies fashion bags), Poplar Linens (bedding), Posh Paws (bags),  Roy Lowe and Sons (socks), Smith & Brooks (girls daywear), The Janger Limited (clothing hangers and athletic wear) and William Lamb (footwear).

Products are due to start launching in the publishing, fashion, accessories, gifting, homewares, personal care, FMCG and back to school categories from June.
