The Source rounds up more news from the licensing industry across the globe from the week.

WBCP has joined forces with DC Entertainment and an all-star roster of licensees for the launch of the Justice League licensing programme. Partners on board include Mattel, LEGO, Rubie’s, Funko, Jakks Pacific, Hot Toys, Bioworld, Under Armour, Converse, Panini, GB eye, Pyramid International and New Era among others. Retailers including Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Amazon, GAP, Hot Topic, Asda, Tesco and Primark will be among those getting involved across the globe. The movie will hit cinemas in November.

Gaming will be a significant theme at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe. Activity will include a dedicated Gaming Activation Area mapping the journey of gaming IP from screen to store, plus a keynote address from Mark Howsen, commercial development director at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe. SEGA, Capcom, Ubisoft, King, Activision Blizzard and Rovio will also be among the 190 exhibitors which are so far confirmed for the October show.

Melanie Humberstone-Garley has joined Larkshead Media as special consultant. Melanie will focus on licensing opportunities for a number of properties, with a particular emphasis on softlines.

eOne has launched an exclusive line of Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom toys at Target in the US. The debut assortment from master toy licensee Jazwares will be followed by the first book title from newly signed publishing partner, Scholastic, on October 15.

Rainbow has revealed the arrival of its live action show Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends and World of Winx on Nickelodeon Greece.

GameCo has secured a deal with Grammy nominated DJ Steve Aoki for a new video game gambling machine entitled Steve Aoki’s Neon Dream. It will debut in casinos from late summer and has been inspired by Steve’s Neon Future album and its underlying soundscapes.
