Trading Standards seizes fake football merchandise

Over 30,000 counterfeit Premier League products seized.

Some 30,000 counterfeit products for Premier League football clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have been seized by Trading Standards from a Harrow-based Amazon business.

In addition, the business – trading as Make it Magical Crafts and Gifts on Amazon – was also found to be selling fakes of other brands such as Hello Kitty, Marvel and Angry Birds.

GetWestLondon reported that the owner, Kiran Ruda, was given an 18-month suspended sentence and was fined £5,000 after he admitted nine counts of handling goods bearing counterfeit trademarks at Harrow Crown Court.

Over 30,000 fake bags, watches, hats, wallets and scarves worth around £125,000 were seized by Trading Standards.

Brent and Harrow Trading Standards officers were first tipped off about the counterfeit operation by a representative of the Football Association.
