Barbie to star on Channel 4 with Mary Portas

Mary will explore the iconic status of fashion doll brand in new show airing this week.

Mary Portas is set to take an in-depth look at the Barbie brand in a new show airing on Channel 4 this week.

At almost 60 years of age, Barbie: The Most Famous Doll in the World will see Mary exploring the iconic status of the fashion doll brand.

As well as looking at the history, Mary asks what’s next for the doll in an increasingly gender-neutral world.

“It’s astounding how this doll can still have so much influence,” Mary commented.

Barbie: The Most Famous Doll in the World airs on Channel 4 on Tuesday, October 3 at 9.15pm.
