Moon and Me ready to head to China

Sutikki strikes content and commercial deal with UYoung for new BBC series.

The eagerly anticipated Moon and Me – the new series from Andrew Davenport – is heading to China after Sutikki secured a content and commercial partnership with UYoung in the territory.

UYoung will manage distribution of the series in Mainland China and a number of other local territories, as well as oversee content re-versioning.  It will also act as the brand’s master licensee and agent in the region.

In addition to licensing third parties in China to create branded merchandise based on Moon and Me, UYoung will also manufacture select products and work in partnership with Moon and Me global licensees Hasbro and Scholastic.

The companies expect the property to launch in China in 2019.

The deal continues an existing strong relationship between Andrew Davenport and UYoung – it has been building the In the Night Garden brand in China for close to a decade.

Moon and Me is the comical story of a special friendship between two characters from completely different worlds. It will combine the latest production methods with traditional storytelling, comedy and music to create a beautifully constructed picture-book world designed for today’s preschoolers.

Moon and Me will premiere on BBC’s CBeebies in the UK in 2018. It is being produced by Sutikki and Foundling Bird, with Sutikki overseeing global distribution and merchandise licensing.

“We’re tremendously excited to enter into a relationship with UYoung for Moon and Me,” said Andrew Kerr, co-founder of Sutikki.

“This is a key regional partnership and it is particularly pleasing to be working with a company of UYoung’s stature so early in the life of the Moon and Me brand.”
