Tesco further underlines Help for Heroes support

Fundraising drive held in 250+ stores to coincide with charity’s tenth birthday.

Tesco further underlined its commitment to the Help for Heroes charity this weekend, holding a ‘fund and awareness raising’ drive to coincide with the charity’s tenth birthday.

Called the National Collection, the initiative took place in 250+ Tesco stores nationwide on October 14 and 15.

Volunteers collected money for the charity, while also raising awareness with shoppers of how they can support Help for Heroes by purchasing a number of licensed items in-store and online.

These products include Eggs for Soldiers free range eggs, Branston Bigger Baked Beans, Tesco personalised items (online only), and the new Cadbury Heroes Limited Edition tin, exclusive to Tesco – the first time Cadbury has re-introduced a traditional tin since moving all its assortments to tubs.

Help for Heroes’ relationship with Tesco – which extends from staff fundraising to ranges of co-branded products – has to date raised over £1.6 million for the charity.

The National Collection is just one of a number of events taking place from this month through to September 2018 to mark the tenth anniversary of the founding of Help for Heroes.

Beth Miles, marketing and fundraising director at Help for Heroes, commented: “We’re gearing up for some major activity in our birthday year – and it doesn’t get much bigger than a nationwide fundraising drive across over 250 Tesco stores.

“We are enormously grateful to Tesco for its help with this event and for its sterling support over the years.”
