RHS digs deep with new addition to licensing drive

Licensee Jayco launches new range of illustrated RHS ladies’ gardening gloves.

The RHS programme is continuing to bloom, with licensee Jayco launching a new range of illustrated RHS ladies’ gardening gloves.

Called The RHS Collection, the gloves come in three styles with a different floral image on the back of each.

The three images symbolise particular sentiments, based on Victorian interpretations of the meaning of flowers: a poppy symbolising remembrance, a rose symbolising friendship and an iris symbolising hope and wisdom.

The images are based on engravings, lithographs and watercolours taken from the RHS Lindley Library.

The range which was awarded Best New Product in the Home and Gift category at GLEE 2017.

Peter Cooney, owner and manager at Jayco, said: “We are thrilled to secure the endorsement of the RHS for our new range of gardening gloves, and delighted with the RHS Lindley Library artwork – which has made this a range as good to look at as it is to wear.”

Cathy Snow, licensing manager at RHS, added: “The combination of tough, durable and yet elegant material with some truly gorgeous illustrations from the RHS Lindley Library has produced a very desirable selection of gardening gloves.”
