M&Co highlights 2018 success stories

Julia Redman talks Peter Rabbit, The Gruffalo, Pokémon and sequins.

M&Co has highlighted some of the licences which have been starring in its stores during 2018.

Speaking to Licensing Source Book as part of the judging of the product categories for this year’s Licensing Awards, Julia Redman (pictured), head of buying kidswear, Kylie, menswear and home, said that it had been a “stand out” year for Peter Rabbit.

“The traditional design for newborns has been outstanding,” Julia commented. “The joy it is totally appeals to the older consumer while the youngsters respond positively to its clean, healthy image.

“Guess How Much I Love You and The Gruffalo have also been strong for us, while higher up the age groups, gaming properties, such as Pokémon and Minecraft have done well.”

Julia also added: “And it is two way sequins everywhere.”
