Pokémon takes to the catwalk with Bobby Abley

Characters including Pikachu and Charmander inspire part of AW19 collection.

Leading menswear fashion designer Bobby Abley unveiled his autumn/winter 2019 collection earlier in January, with part of the range inspired by Pokémon.

Colours inspired by the characters – including the fiery orange of Charmander, soft lilac of Mewtwo, powdery blues of Squirtle and the yellow of Pikachu – featured on a range of designs, along with the characters themselves as repeat motifs.

The Poké Ball, meanwhile, was interpreted as a technical poncho, oversized polo shirt, backpack and cross-body bag, while Pokémon-inspired football kits saw a return to acid neon.
