Elle, Jamie Oliver brands get Ambiente boost

Licensees reveal key developments for lifestyle properties at Frankfurt show.

A number of licensees have used the Ambiente housewares show in Frankfurt this weekend to showcase new lines for key lifestyle brands.

Merison launched the first collection of Elle homewares at the show (which runs from February 12-16).

The company has created two distinctive ranges: Metropolitan Bistro and Parisian Catwalk. The former includes “interchangeable plate that can be mixed and matched – as you would in fashion,” explained Stephen Fletcher, ceo of Merison, while Parisian Catwalk includes tableware for “evening” use.

Stephen added: “It’s about being distinctive and elegant.”

Meanwhile, DKB and Merison both showcased new packaging and in-store merchandising opportunities for their Jamie Oliver kitchenware ranges at Ambiente.

The Jamie Oliver brand has undergone an overhaul in packaging across its licensees, providing a refreshed, cohesive look so that different collections “work well together in store,” highlighted Merison’s ceo, Stephen Fletcher.

DKB Household UK’s Nick Cornwell explained that the new packaging reflects Jamie’s personality “through mouth watering food photography, eclectic fonts, pops of colour and strong food connections.”

DKB was also celebrating “the longest housewares licence, with the original celebrity chef, Ken Hom,” said Nick Cornwell, md of DKB Household UK, with a striking display of woks at Ambiente.

2016 marks the 60th anniversary of the partnership.
