Uniqlo gets inspired by pop art icon for new collection

The retailer’s latest UT collection of tees and totes celebrates the art of Roy Lichtenstein.

Uniqlo has taken inspiration from acclaimed pop artist Roy Lichtenstein for the latest drop in its UT collection.

Consumers are being given the chance to travel back to the swinging 60s with the new range of tees and eco-friendly bags for men and women.

Roy Lichtenstein was a forerunner and main figure in the pop art movement of the 1960s. He established his vivid style by using simple black outlines, bright primary colors found in ads and comics, and halftone dots used in newsprint.

He is remembered for depicting not only characters from comics, but also creating new works in his own style in dialogue with great historic artists like Picasso, Matisse and Monet among others.
