Licensed names celebrate being named as Gift of the Year 2022 finalists

The Giftware Association has today (14 February) unveiled the finalists in the prestigious Gift of the Year 2022 awards – with a number of licensed names celebrating their inclusion.

A live judging day was held during Spring Fair (on 9 February), where the judges got to see and hold the shortlisted products as well as discussing their relative merits with fellow judges.

There is a dedicated Branded Gift category, with the finalists including:

  • Battersea Pop Up Cards – Cardology
  • London Transport Museum Fair Trade Tree Decorations – Just Trade
  • Mug & Puzzle Gift Sets – Fizz Creations
  • Peter Rabbit Collection – Blade and Rose
  • SevenYays Countdown Gift Calendars – Atlas Four Ltd T/A SevenYays
  • Transport for London Games – Gibsons

In addition, licensed products also pop up in a number of other categories. For example, Peter Rabbit by Jim Shore from Enesco has been named in the Commemorative, Collectable and Charitable category; Emma Bridgewater Advent Tins from Elite is nominated in the Festive & Occasions category; and Battersea Pop Up Cards from Cardology is also included in Pet Gift.

The winners and highly commended products will be revealed at The Gift Awards, to be held at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on Thursday 12 May, marking a significant unified step forward for the UK gift industry.

The awards event ceremony will bring together the GA’s Gift of the Year Awards and The Greats gift retailer awards – currently celebrating their 20th milestone year – organised and owned by Max Publishing (publishers of Progressive Gifts & Home magazine). At the lavish awards event, both gift product excellence and retail prowess will be duly recognised and rewarded.

In addition, Gift of the Year finalists are also in with a chance of winning the coveted Judges Choice award.

“We are delighted that Gift of the Year 2022 has been so well supported by the whole gift community – from Hyve Group’s commitment as headline sponsor to our strong roster of category sponsors – in addition to the widespread engagement from the suppliers who entered, and the great care and attention to detail from our enthusiastic judges,” commented Sarah Ward, ceo of The Giftware Association. “I can’t wait for everyone to celebrate together at The Gift Awards on May 12.”
