Fashion UK opens doors to creative showcase

Licensee welcomes brand owners and retailers to special look at upcoming designs and trends.

Fashion UK welcomed a host of licensors and retailers to its first Christmas Creative Showcase last week.

The apparel licensee exhibited trend predictions for spring/summer 2018 and autumn/winter 2018/2019 at the Global Licensing office in London last Wednesday (December 6).

Retailers including George @ Asda, Morrisons/Nutmeg, Character.com, M&Co and Next all attended, as did brand owners such as Disney, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros, Pokémon, BBC Worldwide and Bulldog Licensing.

The aim was to show licensors and retailers how Fashion UK was interpreting the latest and upcoming trends into licensed product.

Amber Hill, the licensee’s creative director, commented: “By staying relevant and understanding what trends mean for us, it enables us to understand whether a trend is right for our brands, given our DNA and our customer.

“We ensure that our teams are aligned to consumer needs, ensuring that our designers know who they are and what they want. We are at an exciting development stage that should see us cultivate a better understanding of our market and we wanted to share this with the industry.

“After the overwhelming amount of positive feedback, we are looking forward to showcasing our ever-changing creative more often.”
