Rocky Horror Show licensing programme builds in advance of 50th anniversary

The Rocky Horror Show’s licensing programme – represented by Golden Goose – is gathering serious momentum with new licensees and new international agency representatives signed up in advance of the show’s 50th anniversary.

New licensees include dress-up (Smiffys) and illustrated comic books (Dark Horse) and categories in development include apparel, figurines, pinball and slot machines.

“Given the strength of the characters and the obvious love for the musical from generations of fans, it’s now time for Rocky Horror Show licensed products to take centre stage,” commented Adam Bass, director at Golden Goose.

Andy Leighton, the show’s music publisher, continued: “It’s exciting to have these phenomenal new partners on board. The international fanbase is definitely hungry for products that hit the brand’s sweet spot.”

Rebeckah Dalton, product director at Golden Goose, is gearing up for a raft of approvals: “We are developing a stunning new style guide that will establish The Rocky Horror Show as a force to be reckoned with for the 50th anniversary and many years to come.”

International sub-agencies have also been showing interest in the property with The Sharpe Company (US), The Dot Collective (Australia and New Zealand) and Joon International (South Korea) all on board.

The show has appeared in 30 countries and has been translated into 20 languages.

Golden Goose will be showcasing the property on stand C250 at BLE.
