MTV licensing programme fuels up

New energy drink, MTV Up, among raft of deals confirmed by Nickelodeon & Viacom CP.

Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products has secured a trio of licensing deals for the MTV brand, including a new energy drink.

Food and beverage distributor Agrokor is launching MTV Up across the UK and Middle East. The branded energy drink is already available throughout Eastern Europe, Italy and Russia.

Arriving in the UK in November, and the Middle East in 2017, there will be four flavours – classic, sugar free, cola and orange – in two can sizes (250ml and 500ml).

Hrvoje Balent, evp central purchasing and services at Agrokor, said: “We are pleased to continue our work with MTV launching MTV UP into new markets and giving fans across the UK a new way to embrace the MTV lifestyle.”

In addition, launching internationally from early 2017, Évos and MTV will debut a line of personal audio products. Inspired by musicians, the range will feature a combination of over-ear and in-ear headphones with wired and wireless options. Prices will start from £59.99.

Finally, Dutch fashion retailer CoolCat has teamed with MTV for a new line of clothing and accessories, developed by apparel licensee Van Der Erve featuring MTV-inspired designs.

The range includes sweaters, t-shirts, caps and bags for men and women. It is available in CoolCat stores across Belgium and the Netherlands now.

“MTV has always fueled creativity and innovation,” said Dan Frugtniet, vp of licensing and business development at Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products.

“With its rich cultural heritage and global appeal, MTV never fails to spark excitement amongst our partners when it comes to launching new products and lines.

“We therefore take great pride and enjoyment working with three of the very best licensees from around the world to create product lines that continue to expand MTV’s reach and global influence.”
