Penguin to grow hit toy brand, Hatchimals

Three-year publishing deal secured for books based on Spin Master property.

Penguin Random House Children’s UK is to bring hit toy brand, Hatchimals, to the world of publishing.

The company has secured a three-year deal to release books based on the Spin Master property.

The world publishing rights – excluding North America – will see the Puffin imprint roll out fiction, activity books and a collector’s guide.

The first title will be fiction book The Giggling Tree, which will arrive in May, along with the sticker book, Magical Adventures.

The deal was secured by editor Beth O’Leary and Richard Haines, head of acquisitions at Penguin.
