Pusheen’s birthday marked with new launches

Licensing programme grows with arrival of Funko Pop! vinyl figurines.

Fluid World marked the birthday of Pusheen this week, with fans and licensees across the globe joining in with the celebrations.

The birthday also coincided with the arrival at retail of Funko Pop! vinyl figurines of the popular character. The collectables are available in retailers including Forbidden Planet, FNAC, Amazon, EMP, Gamestop, Barnes & Noble, FYE, EB Games and Hot Topic.

The partnership with Funko further grows the collectables category for Pusheen. The products join the Pusheen mini blind box figurines from Thumbs Up and Pusheen Squishies from Hamee.

Fluid World – which is the European agent for the property – has also bolstered the brand across the EU market with new collections in H&M, Women’s Secret, UNDIZ, EMP, OVS and LPP. Notably, Pusheen continues to be LPP’s top licensed brand, with the autumn/winter 2018 ladies daywear collection generating 86% sell through in-store for Reserved.

Elsewhere, the world’s first Pusheen pop-up café opened in Singapore in January. The café, in partnership with Kumoya, includes Pusheen-themed interior and inspired mains, desserts and drinks.

Fluid World is continuing to look for further opportunities for Pusheen, which was created by Claire Belton and first made an appearance in 2010.

Since her creation, Pusheen images and GIFs have been shared and sent over 20 billion times.
