Eddingtons reveals National Trust collaboration

The company’s new range of toughened glass worktop protectors has been inspired by the ‘work and passion’ of the Trust.

Eddingtons has revealed its new National Trust collaboration, with the company creating a range of toughened glass worktop protectors.

Two collections have been launched in the first phase, with the Trust’s recognisable oak leaf logo featuring on all items from the Nature collection.

The collection was commissioned with watercolour artist and nature enthusiast Louise Nisbet Fine Art BA (HONS). The illustrations feature countryside scenes, native flora and fauna, animals and insects reflecting the conservation work undertaken by the Trust and its team of rangers.

Through sales generated from this collection, Eddingtons will contribute a minimum of £10,000 to the National Trust.

The Alfriston Clergy collection, meanwhile, features a repeat oak leaf pattern in four contemporary colours. The pattern was inspired by carvings found at Alfriston Clergy House, the first property purchased by the National Trust for conservation.

The worktop protectors are made using special toughened glass which resists heat (up to 250 degrees celsius).

“We are delighted to have collaborated with the National Trust on the development of the range – the most difficult part was narrowing down the selection of projects that the National Trust actively support in order to reflect these in designs incorporated on the final product,” commented Richard Walker, commercial director at Eddingtons. “The development of this range endorses the skill and capability of our team at the Tuftop works here in Hungerford, Berkshire where the toughened glass boards are produced.”

Michaela Davies, brand licensing manager at the National Trust, added: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support Eddington’s will bring to our conservation projects and are excited to see how the collaboration will develop over the coming years.”
