Upcoming sessions will provide insights on the essence of brands and IP protection.
Trade body LIMA is kicking off 2018 with a series of webinars designed to give licensing professionals insights into how to identify and leverage brand essence and how to protect their intellectual property.
The new sessions will begin on January 10 with Expand, Grow, Thrive, with Pete Canalichio of Licensing Brands sharing his findings and experiences on what it takes to build valuable assets and to generate more value from them.
Pete will look at several brand examples including how a game like Halo generates millions in revenue through long-term storytelling, partnerships and the judicious use of technology.
This will be followed on January 17 by What You Need to Know About Protecting and Enforcing Your IP in Canada.
Tony Prenol, partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon, and leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, will provide an overview of how to protect and enforce your IP in Canada, including examples specific to different industries.
Finally, The Search for Your Missing Brand will take place on January 31.
Raj B. Stroff and Michael Reda of Pine Strategy and Design offer a look at how to drill down to a brand’s essence, giving a better idea on how to determine where it can and should live.
“This slate of webinars is designed to provide the most up to date information led by global industry leaders to help licensing and marketing professionals gain insight into the topics currently trending,” said Charles Riotto, president of LIMA.
“No matter where your business is or needs to be, there is insight to be gained for everyone involved in licensing.”
The webinars are free to all LIMA members and $200 per session for non-members. They will all take place from midday to 1pm EDT.
