Sweet Cherry Publishing adds new head of licensing

Sweet Cherry Publishing has made a number of promotions within the business including a new head of licensing.

Previously commissioning editor, Tori Cotton (pictured) has taken on the role, having contributed greatly to series such as Maggie Sparks – which is now a licensed IP with Larkshead Licensing – and spearheaded the products published under SCP’s licensing list.

This includes Numberblocks, Alphablocks and Colourblocks, Dave Spud and B.O.T and the Beasties.

Tori has led the development of over 50 books for Blue Zoo’s Blocks brands alone, as well as representing Sweet Cherry at numerous trade events, licensing conferences, pitches and proposals.

“I’m delighted to take on this new role at Sweet Cherry and continue developing and expanding our licensed portfolio,” commented Tori. “It’s a privilege to work with the inspiring brands, agents and licensors in our list, not to mention our talented in-house team. I look forward to forging new partnerships, building our licensed Maggie Sparks and Mula and Friends series, and helping shape the future of Sweet Cherry Publishing.”

Sanjee de Silva, publisher at SCP, continued: “Tori brings such invaluable insight and expertise to the team that bringing her up to management level was a natural next step to take. Her contributions have been nothing short of incredible as commissioning editor, so the wider team of cherries and I are immensely excited to see what she can do as head of licensing.”

Sweet Cherry has also made a number of other recent promotions: Lizzie Cameron is now senior rights and export sales manager; Ashleigh Bunker has moved up to production executive; Sophie Jones has progressed to senior designer; and Kirsty Topley has moved to designer level.
