Including The Vamps taking over Cartoon Network to help promote its summer line-up.

Cartoon Network has teamed with British pop rock band The Vamps and Kung Fu Panda 3 on Blu-ray and DVD to kick off its official countdown to summer. The four-piece band will take over the channel to promote the film’s home entertainment release and to help get viewers ‘kung fu’ ready. The Vamps will be offering kids the likes of hacky-sack competitions to martial arts training sessions with Po in between the shows. Cartoon Network’s summer holiday line-up kicks off on Monday July 25.

Acamar Films is launching its first ever Bing app – Bing Baking. The app has been produced by Acamar Films and co-developed with the digital team at Aardman. The licensing programme is also continuing to grow, with new additions across key categories due to be announced in line with the airing of the TV series and appointment of agents, to develop local licensing campaigns around the globe.

Tonner-One World has teamed with SmileyWorld to create a line of Smiley branded dolls and doll fashions, complete with matching children’s and adult fashions. One World Holdings ceo Corinda Joanne Melton hinted that this was the first in a number of new deals within the licensing space for the Tonner-One World brand.

Cartamundi has secured a new deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to bring Thunderbirds Are Go to a range of card games. Launching in early 2017, the line will include a Snap game and a Happy Families game, along with an action game appearing towards the end of the year. The cards will be illustrated with the show’s main characters, as well as some of the key vehicles.

The Frisk mint brand from Perfetti van Melle was among the winners at Japan’s Brand License Award earlier this month, picking up New Face Licensed Brand. Sanrio Far East represents the brand in the territory and several key categories have already been signed. These include personal care, apparel and accessories.

The Estate of Mahatma Gandhi has signed with Beanstalk for global advertising and media representation.

French CGI studio TeamTO has launched a new mobile game based on its hit show, Angelo Rules. Angelo Skate Away follows in the footsteps of the show’s first game, A Busy Day, which boasts over 2.5 million downloads.

Turner Europe, Middle East and Africa has named Pedro Cosa to the newly created role of vp insights and analytics. Pedro joins the company in September from Channel 4.
