‘We are in the super hero era’

Sainsbury’s buyers highlight their top sellers and big hopes for Christmas 2016.

Super hero lines are soaring across the board – from Batman to Wonder Woman – according to buyers from Sainsbury’s.

Kim Darby, buyers admin assistant; Hannah Monk, assistant buyer (both pictured) and Vicki Ingram, buyer for dress-up and schoolwear were all in agreement about the performance of super hero brands when The Source caught up with them at the Licensing Awards product judging.

Vicki commented: “We are in a superhero era from Batman to Wonder Woman! The dead cert for the coming seasons is My Little Pony with high hopes for Trolls.”

Kim and Hannah continued: “Super hero lines do well across the board.

“My Little Pony and Trolls are appealing to girls and, in preschool, Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol are doing well for us.

“We’ve also done really well with our DTR for The Gruffalo.”
